Privacy Notice

What information the service uses and why.

Effective date: 13 August 2026

1. Scope and product status

This notice describes Finance Tracker, an early-stage personal financial record-keeping product. It is not a statement that the operator is a regulated financial institution or that the service has completed any particular privacy, security, or regulatory certification. This notice should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch in any jurisdiction with specific compliance requirements.

2. Information you provide

Depending on the features you use, the service may store account information such as your name and email address; financial records such as investment, bank-account, contribution, and holding details; uploaded documents; family-member details; feedback; and settings. Passwords are stored using one-way hashing rather than being displayed back to the operator.

3. How information is used

We use information to create and secure your account, provide the records and reports you request, operate document-import and reminder workflows, respond to support requests, prevent misuse, and maintain the service. You should only enter information that is necessary for your intended use of the product.

4. Cookies and optional analytics

The service uses essential session and security technologies needed to sign in and operate the site. Google Analytics is optional: it is not loaded until you select "Allow analytics" in the consent notice. If you allow it, Google may receive usage information through its analytics service. You can decline without losing access to the site, or reopen your choice using the button below.

5. Feature-specific service providers

When you choose certain features, the service may send the information necessary for that request to a third-party provider. Examples include reCAPTCHA for abuse prevention, market-data providers for quote or chart requests, connected broker sources you choose to use, and OpenAI for AI-assisted document review or analysis. Do not use an optional feature if you do not want the information required for that feature processed by its provider.

6. Disclosure and sale of data

The product is not designed to sell or rent your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed to run a feature, where you ask us to do so, to protect the service or users, or where required by law. This does not create a promise that every provider or future integration will be identical; material changes should be reflected in this notice.

7. Security and your responsibilities

The service uses account authentication and technical controls, including password hashing and optional two-factor authentication. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Use a unique password, enable two-factor authentication when available, avoid sharing your login, and keep your own copies of critical records and source documents.

8. Access, correction, and deletion

You can correct much of your information from within the product. You can request account deletion from your Profile page; the account record and associated database records are deleted through that workflow. Copies in logs, temporary storage, or backups may remain for a limited technical retention period, and uploaded-file cleanup may require a support request. For access, correction, or deletion help, contact the operator through the Feedback page.

9. Updates and contact

This notice may change as the product, hosting, integrations, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date when we revise it. For privacy questions, use the Feedback page and describe the request without including passwords or full financial credentials.
